TCPRO 2013 Spezial - Fun Race @ Spa - BRIEFING International

We would like to welcome all simracers and participants of the TCPRO special event at Spa-Francorchamps.!

First of all we’d like to thank you for the numerous participation and we really hope everybody will be able to join the upcoming race event.

It still takes a few days until race-day, however we already would like to take the opportunity to inform you about some details which might help to make the event as enjoyable as expected.

We did limit the grid to 50 starters only; of course some racers might say that a grid of 60 starters would be feasible, too. To be honest, we did not really expect the afore said huge number of participants and so we might have underestimated the concerns due to this special iRacing track in Spa-Francorchamps (i.e. drops of frame rates). So in order to avoid excluding some racers due to technical constraints (CPU power etc.) we decided to go for 50 starters only.

Nevertheless we strongly recommend that you have your technical equipment well prepared, you may reduce the graphical options (shadows, objects etc.) in order to get optimal performance, especially at race-start. If you have any questions feel free to contact us directly or reply in the respective forum-thread.

Pre race check list

Also we put together some points for your little pre-race check-list:
1. Restart your PC before joining
2. Switch-off unnecessary update functions (Flash, Microsoft, Steam, anti-virus etc.)
3. Check your “racing-gear”, wheel, pedals
4. Be early enough on the server before race-start for your personal warm-up procedures

Zusätzlich noch ein paar gesammelte Tips aus der Racemore Comunity:

Also we brought together some “ideas for preparation” from the Racemore-Community:
1. Go to the restrooms before race start
2. Have an already opened water bottle available (already opened bottle will help a lot, and keep it still open, if you already drunk a bit...)
3. Warm-up program for your hands, wrists and forearms
4. Check your seat position and your wheel position
5. Switch-off your cell-phones
6. Send your girl-friend to her friend
7. Take into account the possible disconnection of your router due to provider regulations.

If you have further ideas, just let us know.

Further remarks from Race Control:
- Please treat this special event as it is, primarily “fun”. For sure we are racing for the class win or even better to win overall, but please be so kind to avoid treating the race too serious. Leave always enough space for the others, so they can “survive” and always keep in mind, that you cannot win the race in the first corner, but you can already loose the race there.
- Please have respect for other competitors and be disciplined. Follow the bulletins from Race Control, in particular for cutting areas (there is only one!).
- Verbal and/or written offense won’t be tolerated, we prefer that all racers have some (virtual) beers together after the race instead of any trouble.
- Observe information from Race Control (Voice or Text Chat)
- For HPD pilots: pay attention when overtaking slower cars and take into account that also are racing on track, having duels with their competitors.
- For GT pilots: stay on your line, when you are going to be overtaken. HPD drivers will decide how and where overtaking will take place in a clean way
- Overtaking/Lapping in general: Faster car is in charge for clean manoeuvre. Slower car keeps the line and avoids any unpredictable moves.
- Pay attention when exiting pits and do not cross the white pit-exit line.
- Be carefully at the end of “Eau Rouge” , there might be accelerating cars coming from pits or slower cars on track
- HAVE FUN

Course of the Race Day:

08:00 p.m. – Start of warm-up and live-stream
09:00 p.m. – Start of the Race (green green green)

- rolling Start
- the Grid starts in separate classes (P2 + GT3)
- the GT3 class to follow the P2 class in a safe distance of ca. 10 Sec
